Uniform hydraulic flat-flow distribution eliminates short-circuiting β consistent FOG and SS removal.
The CG DAFβ’ Flat Flow system is a rectangular dissolved air flotation unit engineered with flat-flow hydraulics to provide uniform distribution of feed water and micro-bubbles across the entire flotation zone. Unlike DAF systems where hydraulic short-circuiting leads to inconsistent performance, the flat-flow configuration ensures uniform hydraulic loading across the full tank cross-section β maximising contact time and pollutant capture. Particularly effective for food and beverage, dairy, fish processing, and other applications where stable, consistent FOG and SS removal is critical for downstream biological performance.
Chemically conditioned feed water enters through a submerged baffle inlet distributing flow uniformly across the full tank width. Recycle water saturated with dissolved air at 4β6 bar is released through ceramic nozzles distributed uniformly across the inlet width, generating fine micro-bubbles throughout the flotation zone. The flat-flow hydraulic pattern carries floc-bubble complexes horizontally, providing long contact time. A variable-speed surface skimmer continuously removes the floating sludge blanket. Heavy settled solids discharge through bottom drain valves.
