The Challenge

Edible Oil Effluent: Emulsified FOG and High-Strength Organic Load

Edible oil refineries generate wastewater containing highly emulsified fats, fatty acids, soaps, and bleaching earth. SAF or DAF with optimised coagulation breaks the emulsion and removes 90–98% of FOG. The downstream SBR handles residual COD and BOD to NEQS discharge standards.

Typical Treatment Train

Screen→ API Oil/Water Separator→ SAF / DAF→ Equalisation→ SBR→ Discharge

API separator removes free oil. SAF/DAF with optimised coagulant removes emulsified FOG >95%. SBR biological stage reduces BOD/COD to NEQS limits.
