Sugar Mill & Distillery Wastewater Treatment
High-strength anaerobic treatment with biogas energy recovery for Pakistan's sugar and distillery sector — NEQS-compliant and energy-positive.
Sugar mill process water and distillery vinasse contain COD of 3,000–80,000 mg/L — far too high for conventional aerobic treatment. The solution is anaerobic pre-treatment (UASB or IC Reactor) which converts organic load into biogas energy, followed by aerobic polishing to reach NEQS discharge standards. Critical GREEN has delivered 8+ sugar mill ETP systems across Punjab and Sindh.
UASB achieves 70–85% COD reduction with concurrent biogas. SBR polishes to NEQS. Constructed wetlands provide final polishing for irrigation reuse.
