Peripheral and centre-drive scraper mechanisms for circular clarifiers 5–50 m diameter.
The CG Mud Scraper™ series provides both peripheral-drive and centre-drive sludge collection mechanisms for circular primary, secondary, and tertiary settling tanks. These continuously operating scraper mechanisms collect settled sludge from the clarifier floor and move it towards the central sludge hopper for pump extraction, maintaining optimum clarifier performance and preventing accumulation of septic sludge. Integrated surface scum skimming arms simultaneously remove floating material to a scum trough. Available for tank diameters from 5 m to 50+ m, CG Mud Scrapers are engineered for 24/7 continuous operation under varying sludge concentrations and loading conditions.
The scraper mechanism consists of radial scraper blades attached to a rotating bridge structure that sweeps the clarifier floor continuously. In peripheral-drive units, the rotating bridge is supported at the centre on a fixed pivot and at the periphery on a drive wheel running on a circumferential rail track. In centre-drive units, the drive mechanism is located at the centre column with scraper arms radiating outward. Scrapers push settled sludge along the floor toward the central sludge collection hopper. Surface scum skimming arms on the same bridge collect floating material and direct it to a beach or trough on the tank wall.
